The United States and China, along with Pakistan, Germany, The United Kingdom, and South Korea have reached a resolution for the United Nations to establish regional safety commissions. These commissions would "regulate, review, and recommend" the nuclear safety of separate regions. South Korea and other nations have noted that "to work with China and other nearby regions has cultural and geographical advantages".
